Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready to Wear was conceptualized in 2013 as a B-2-C platform for Malaysian designers to showcase their Ready to Wear Collections and ultimately highlighted the strength and creativity of the Malaysia’s Fashion Industry to local and international customers. Last year, the Fashion Week brought more than 100,000 people together over 5 days at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur to witness more than 80 Local Designers’ Collections.

From August 12 to 16, 2015 Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week will present an exciting mix of designers in the Malaysian capital over 5 highly anticipated days. More than 80 designers will be showcasing their never-seen-beforeRunway Collection” exclusively at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready to Wear.

“We are proud to welcome back a great numbers of designers this season as well as to be an important platform to a growing number of new designers,” says Andrew Tan, Founder of the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week. “The amount of designers showing for the first time is a great testament of the attention; Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week is receiving both on a national and international level.”

Working closely with Tourism Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready to Wear 2015 will be inviting 5 International Guest Designers from China, United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore and Indonesia to facilitate a creative bi-lateral dialogue between our local and international designers and to promote the international growth of our local designers in the very near future. Turkish Designer Songul Cabaci will also be making an appearance at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week, courtesy of the Turkish Embassy to Malaysia.

As Kuala Lumpur embraces the creative talents of over 80 designers during the main event, Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready to Wear 2015 has been working behind the scene with AirAsia for the AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search 2015 to discover the creative talent of the future by selecting 10 young designers out of more than 300 entries from the top fashion schools in Malaysia that auditioned. The highlight of the AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search 2015 will be the determination of the top 3 Winners on August 16 2015 at 12 Noon.

Aireen Omar, CEO of AirAsia Berhad commented, “AirAsia believes in the development of young talent. We have always been heavily involved in growing young talent, especially in sports. This new project aims to support young fashion designers – to identify the talents of tomorrow, and to reward and support them with the highest form of exposure and opportunities available in the fashion industry.’’

Fashion is a lifestyle and it appeals to all walks of life. “Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) is very proud to be KLFW RTW 2015’s Official Bank as one of our continuous efforts to reach younger and new market segment, we look at fashion as one of the platforms to engage with our customers”, says Akhsan Zaini, the Senior Vice President/Head Distribution Department of BSN.

Besides, the future of the textile and fashion industry relies on designers creating new, compelling visions for the way in which products are created, used and disposed of. “Over the past few years, KLFW RTW has demonstrated it is a great platform to feature creativity and ingenuity which aligns well with Volkswagen’s brand DNA”, says Armin Keller, the Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Malaysia.

“We are happy to support an event like this that showcases local talents as this is the first year Volkswagen Malaysia has come in as an Official Car Sponsor of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready to Wear 2015”, he adds.

As part of KLFW RTW’s mission of Moving Fashion Forward, the innovations taking place at the intersection of fashion and technology are profoundly amazing and transformative. As for Huawei, technology has come of age and today’s style-conscious consumers see their devices as an extension of their personalities.

Abraham Kang, CEO of Huawei Technologies (M) Sdn. Bhd commented, “Our partnership with KLFW RTW 2015 is testimony to the fact that we see ourselves as more than just a device brand, we are a lifestyle brand that modern consumers of technology can relate with. It is a sign of our commitment to continue to introduce devices that work great and look gorgeous!’’
