Juniper On Aging

Isn’t aging just a number? People say you are only as old as you feel and I guess that also means you are as young as you feel. I certainly don’t feel my age although sometimes I do feel I am too old to be blogging since beauty brands generally look for the young and can you blame them? Most of them prefer those in their 20s to represent their brands but ironically, it’s the mature customers who have the most savings in order to splurge on their products, especially the premium brands.

Anyway I have my own interpretation on aging inspired by Dr Seuss of course.

I cannot run

I cannot spend too much time under the sun

I cannot eat as much as I used to

Everything doesn’t even taste as good as it used to

Of course I am not as young any more

Some things become so much more of a chore

There are times when I cannot remember where I left my keys

So I need some reminding please

There are days when I get up and look like I could use some help

One of these days I might even wake up and yelp

I have low tolerance for people who act important

Being irritable is a constant

My Golden decade is round the corner

But in no way will I ever be a mourner

For days gone by and years that have passed

Because I will try my best to have a blast

Another year older is another year of wisdom gained

Fingers crossed, my interest in blogging will never be waned

Although the day may come when I have had enough

Blogging has its benefits, it makes me tough

The road ahead is still very long

Until I am ready to sing my swan song
