Everyone loves weddings and these days, weddings are getting more and more innovative as bridal couples enlist the help of wedding planners to customise their wedding day. Most of my friends married way back in the 1990s when things were a lot more simple.

In the past few years, we often read about the unique ways in which proposals are made followed by publicity-worthy weddings. After all, a wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event (for most people anyway!) and everyone would want it to be as special and memorable as possible which is why bridal fairs are popular.

Bridal fairs are a excellent platforms for engaged couples to check out what’s on offer ranging from photography packages to food to wedding favours. Back in the days when my friends married one by one (a lot of red packets had to be given out every year whenever an invitation was received), wedding favours consisted of the ubiquitous slice of fruit cake left on every table but in recent years, wedding favour choices are limitless.

Yesterday afternoon, I attended the “Fairy Tale Weddings” Bridal Fair At The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur at the invitation of the hotel, I hasten to add. Entry to the Bridal Fair was RM50 nett per couple and this included a 6-course dinner at The Saujana Ballroom (more on that in the next post).

The Saujana Hotel is a 210 room retreat nestled amidst 160 hectares of lush tropical gardens which makes it the perfect setting for outdoor themed weddings should one prefer it that way. There are a variety of venues to choose from:-

  • Outdoors in theatre style seating can accommodate 250 people.
  • The Saujana Ballroom can accommodate 30-40 tables.
  • Topas Room can accommodate up to 120 people.
  • Zamrud Room can accommodate up to 250 people.
  • Poolside can accommodate 18-35 tables.
  • Senja Restaurant can accommodate up to 100 people.
  • Ti Chen Restaurant can accommodate  18-23 tables.

I didn’t stop at every exhibitor at The Bridal Fair, some of them were much more busy than others. The photography exhibitors were especially popular and with good reason, everyone wants great photos to commemorate the occasion.

There were spa products from The Saujana Hotel’s The Spa and Med Beauty which offers a treatment menu comprising Balinese, Oriental and Asian healing therapies for promoting total wellness. Guests can avail themselves of these treatments in the privacy of their own rooms for total privacy and comfort. Among the treatments on the menu are organic facials and Ayurvedic body massages and facials.

Wicked Wax is a company specialising in wedding favours. One can choose from body lotions, mini honey pots, candles, chopsticks and bookmarks. There’s such a profusion of choices that everyone is bound to find a wedding favour they want to give out at their wedding.

Chocolate Chapters specialises in what else but chocolates. I believe chocolates are very popular as wedding favours since the majority of people love chocolates and even a non-chocoholic like myself was quite enamoured of Chocolate Chapters’ hazelnut chocolate (see pic below):-

They also manufacture boxes and I especially love the animal print boxes, no animals were harmed in the process. The boxes can be customised with a minimum order required. Definitely one way to ensure that all your guests will remember your wedding fondly for a long, long time!
