This season’s looks focus on health, freshness and femininity. “It’s about tweaking and revealing beauty, not reinventing it”, says Lyne Desnoyers. Makeup is kept very natural to complement Spring/Summer fashion which sees a lot of prints, from flower prints to portrait prints. Makeup is kept simple and using high-tech products to create low-tech beauty.

As usual, there are 4 trends for Spring/Summer 2014. 2 of them are featured here.

Day-Glow

It’s about a summery, gorgeous and glowing complexion with references to the elements of sand, sea, sun, wind, air, water. The natural vitality behind SS14 is less obvious than a proletarian bronze look and more about peach and pink cream blushes. Highlights and emollient textures are used to emulate the way that light falls on a fresh, young skin. Cream products create a natural look, a raw skin effect. Products are placed strategically on the face.

CC-Thru Colour

As the name suggests, this trend has something to do with a new collection of CC products coming up in March (can’t say more than that for now). We will be seeing shades of lavender which give a soft focus effect to lips and eyes. It’s like a bridal look with shades that brighten up face yet keeping make-up soft. There are lilacs and peaches that aren’t necessarily pastels.
