Now this is a soap with an unusual ingredient. It’s handmade from natural oils of olive, coconut infused ylang ylang palm, blend of essential and fragrance oils, alkanet root, lye and distilled water. I’d never heard of alkanet until I saw this soap but it’s not such an unusual ingredient to those in the beauty industry as alkanet is used as a dyeing and coloring agent and is from the borage family. It roots are used as red dye.
This soap has a very pleasant mild herbal scent and feels very gentle on skin, it can be used on face and body. It doesn’t produce much lather compared to commercial soaps. It doesn’t dry my skin thanks to the natural oils.
