Oligo, a delicious and nutritious chocolate malt beverage produced by Power Root Berhad, is working together with national track cycling champion Dato’ Azizulhasni Awang to power up Malaysia’s dream of its first gold medal in the Olympic Games.

Dato’ Azizulhasni, who is also known as the Pocket Rocketman, has been appointed as Oligo’s brand ambassador because of his tenacious fighting spirit in the sports of track cycling. His spirit represents the same commitment as Oligo in providing energy and nutrients to its consumers.

In line with Oligo’s slogan, “Max Out Your Potential”, we like to see the Pocket Rocketman maximises his awesome power in competition with Oligo, which is fortified with NutriMax.

“Dato’ Azizulhasni is a resilient national athlete. He is always moving forward. After getting a bronze medal during the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, he continued striving until he successfully bagged a silver medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.”

“Our hope now is to see Dato’ Azizulhasni winning the first Olympic gold medal for Malaysia this year,” said Power Root co-chairman YAD Tengku Indera Pahlawan Diraja Tengku Dato’ Setia Putra Alhaj bin YAM Tengku Bendahara Azman Shah Alhaj.

Besides that, Power Root also donated RM250 thousand to Media Prima Palestinian Humanitarian Fund to provide financial assistance and to raise public awareness about the humanitarian issue in Gaza.

In the following months, the Oligo brand will continue to support this initiative by contributing 50 sen for every purchase of Oligo products in powder format and 10 sen for each purchase of ready-to-drink (RTD) Oligo products.

“Through this collaboration, our company hopes to channel aid to Gaza residents and to express our solidarity with them,” kata Tengku Dato’ Setia Putra Alhaj. Through the partnership between Dato’ Azizulhasni and Oligo, Power Root hopes it will inspire Malaysians to pursue excellence and develop tenacity, as well as to practise a healthy lifestyle.

According to Tengku Dato’ Setia Putra Alhaj, “Dato’ Azizulhasni is the best athlete to showcase the image that Oligo wants to convey to the Malaysian society. In pursuing success, Dato’ Azizulhasni is famous for his never-give-up attitude even though he had to face many difficult challenges.”

The media reported that he continued cycling even though his calf was pierced with splintered wood while competition in a keirin event during the International Cycle Union’s World Cup Classics Series in Manchester, England in February 2011. With a strong determination, he successfully completed the competition in third place.

During the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020, Dato’ Azizulhasni stated that he was neither afraid nor worried even though he was physically smaller compared to other cyclists.

To celebrate his prowess as a world champion, Oligo will introduce a new packaging that displays Dato’ Azizulhasni. Oligo contains NutriMax, which is a proprietary blend of Oligofructose, vitamin B6, B12, calcium and other important minerals.
