Guest Review : L’oreal HydraFresh Deep Boosting Essence

One of the latest L’oreal serums in the market is the HydraFresh Deep Boosting Essence which I have seen and tested on the back of my hand at one of the pharmacies. It contains tiny beads which dissolve when pressed against skin. As the name of the product suggests, this product is for boosting hydration. Camie reviews this serum.

Basic skincare always starts with step 1, 2 and 3 but this is not just all you need. It’s highly recommended that we should include the 4th element in our daily regime – serum.  Some think that this is totally unnecessary but as our skin gets more stressed out due to uncontrollable work stress, pollution, sun damage and activities surrounding our day to day life, you will soon realise that your skin needs more than just water, it will require supplements and vitamins – your serum.

One of Asian skin’s main concerns is oiliness and dullness, often caused by not only hormones but dehydration. As skincare experts, L’Oreal Dermo Expertise introduced one of their latest creations All Day Hydration – Deep Boosting Essence. It contains Triple Hyaluronic Acid Technology with Pure Mineral SPA Water that claims to be the 1st hydrating essence that helps diffuse hydration into multiple layers of the skin.

It prolongs skin hydration through pure SPA water from French Vosges mountains which locks in moisture and the delicate beads enriched with Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant which protects skin from radicals. Its soft gel texture which was described as delicate “melting snow” as it dissolves gently when it touches the warmth of our skin. With massage strokes, the gel absorbs into the skin giving it the hydration boost. However, I find it kind of leaves a layer of veil on my skin, not really to my liking.

It doesn’t carry a strong scent – something light and smells a little cucumber-ish to me. Nevertheless, this has to be used along with your favourite moisturizer to get the best of both worlds.

The plus point for this would be its twist pump design which prevents leakage in case you accidentally press on it.

This is really affordable. 50ml for RM 59.90. What a steal! It’s available nationwide in major pharmacies and supermarkets.
