Being stuck in evening traffic congestion for over an hour makes me even more hungry and so when I arrived at TEMPTationS Restaurant Renaissance KL for the Berbuka Puasa and Aidilfitri Buffet, I was seriously starving and in urgent need of sustenance.

It’s always a pleasure to dine at TEMPTationS Restaurant Renaissance KL because their buffet spread never disappoints with the variety and quality. Here, they always have more than I can possibly eat. I am so spoilt for choice that I wish I could stay for supper.

gulai

The month of Ramadan starts from 18 June to 16 July 2015 and at TEMPTationS Restaurant, there are more than 100 Malaysian favourite dishes and typical traditional dishes to choose from for buka puasa. The Buka Puasa spread at TEMPTationS Restaurant is inspired to please every palate. From authentic local selections of “kerabu” and “sambal” to the various types of specially prepared rice such as Nasi Minyak, Nasi Tomato and Nasi Bukhari to an array of “gulai” and not forgetting the daily roasted whole lamb with percik sauce. I recommend the lamb as it’s chock-full of flavor and so tender, unforgettable with the sauce.

All time buka puasa favourites include Gado-Gado, Rojak Buah, Pasembar, an assortment of crackers and the must- have Bubur Lambuk that will be available every evening during the fasting month. This buffet is well worth the price if only because I can indulge in as many sticks of satay as I like and here, they grill the satay very nicely and the peanut sauce is yummy.

Hot selection of local flavours to be discovered include daging tulang rawan rendang pedas, daging Palembang, udang harimau masak cili padi, otak-otak kuah padang, Kampung style ikan bakar and accompanied by its hot and spicy sauces.

Those who love to have their food prepared specially for them should check out the “live kitchen” dishing out à la minute grilled seafood or juicy chicken and beef satays. The noodle station offers Laksa Johor, Laksa Penang, Laksa Kelantan and Nyonya Laksa.

There’s a Malaysian stall dishing out Rendang Minang, Gulai Kawah or Rendang Tok on a rotation basis. There are also Indian, Chinese and Western sections.
