Urban Decay Urban Defense Tinted Moisturizer SPF20

Tinted moisturizers make me think of BB Creams but tinted moisturizers are supposedly less multi-functional. Coverage from tinted moisturizers tend to be more sheer but they do have one thing in common – if you have flawless skin, you can get away with wearing just tinter moisturizer or BB Cream with a light dusting of loose powder over on days you want to skip foundation.

Urban Defense’s Tinted Moisturizer SPF20 has very light coverage, it’s creamy but not too thick. It was quite easily and quickly blended into my skin. I could see that it imparted a soft glow making my skin appear dewy even if it was hardly sufficient to cover any imperfections. Of course, acne scars or spots can be covered with a good concealer if you’re using a tinted moisturizer or BB Cream that is too sheer.

There are 4 shades of this Tinted Moisturizer altogether – Halo & Bodyguard are the lightest shades while Bulletproof & Force Field are for darker skin tones. Bodyguard is the shade that was passed to me and I think that it’s a bit too dark for me. Halo would have suited me much better, I reckon.

I understand that this product has been repackaged in its current form, a squeeze tube. Its previous packaging was a pump bottle. I use my fingers to blend it but I could also use a foundation brush.

As far as the new packaging is concerned, I like the combination of colours, purple and silver. The words are in silver and the cap is brushed metallic silver. It’s quite an eye-catching product. Apparently, the new squeeze tube contains more product than previously.

Since I don’t have oily skin, the Tinted Moisturizer stayed put all day. I did set it with loose powder. This product doesn’t contain parabens and is fragrance-free and this is the list of ingredients (obtained from Urban Decay’s official website):-
