Getting Brighter With Shiseido’s White Lucent Intensive Spot Targeting Serum

While I have been using Shiseido’s White Lucent skincare for some time, the Intensive Spot Targeting Serum is new to me. I started using it exactly a month ago as I’d finished with Clinique’s Derma White Clinical Brightening Essence and was keen to experiment on something else.

Hyperpigmentation is my perennial skincare problem, a very common skincare complaint, I am sure, given our year-round sunny weather. It’s the bane of the majority of Asian women and unblemished skin seems to be the ideal of just about everyone.

Shiseido’s White Lucent Intensive Spot Targeting Serum is formulated with m-Tranexamic Acid which helps suppress melanin production. The other primary ingredients, 4MSK inhibits the production of the enzyme tyrosinase within melanocytes, thus targeting the root cause of melanin production while Multi-Target Vitamin C reduces existing melanin and lightens brown melanin pigments.

This runny serum can be considered economical in the sense that just one pump suffices to apply on to my brown spots. After all, it’s not necessary to apply it all over the face, only on problem areas. My brown spots are concentrated on my cheekbones and near my eye area.

Sometimes I apply this serum together with a whitening moisturiser and at other times, with a firming moisturiser. In any case, I use the serum twice a day, massaging it as per instructions which is from the center of the face outwards.

For the first two weeks of usage, I couldn’t see any difference in skin tone or appearance of brown spots. However, by the 4th week, I could finally see some changes. My skin tone was brighter and the brown spots on both cheeks had faded but there was more improvement on the right cheek than the left. The brown spots on the right cheek are less obvious.

Although I can’t see exactly how much is left in the bottle after 4 weeks’ usage, I am guessing there’s at least another 2 weeks’ worth of serum in there. I like the look of my skin in the mornings when I wake up, there’s a radiance that wasn’t there before I started using this serum.

The White Lucent Intensive Spot Targeting Serum is 30ml/RM410.
