MILO®, the beloved household brand with a strong commitment to fostering a sports culture among Malaysians, today reinforced its long-standing dedication to the nation’s sporting landscape with the signing of a sponsorship agreement with the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM).

With a proud legacy of over 70 years of supporting athletes and igniting a passion for sports among Malaysians, MILO has partnered with OCM on an annual basis since 1950s to provide financial sponsorship for Malaysian contingents to compete in the Olympic Games and other international multi sports events as well as fuelling the athletes with the energy to succeed with MILO. MILO has also been the official sponsor of all multi-sport games co-organised by OCM and the Government, including the SEA Games and Commonwealth Games held in Kuala Lumpur.

The signing ceremony for the sponsorship agreement took place between Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin, Secretary General of OCM and Ng Su Yen, Business Executive Officer, MILO, witnessed by Mr. Juan Aranols, Chief Executive Officer, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad and Datuk Hj. Hamidin, Deputy President of OCM. The ceremony was also honoured by the presence of famed Malaysian Olympian athletes, namely Ms. Annie Choong, Tan Sri Dr. M. Jegathesan, Datuk Soh Chin Aun, Nurul Huda Abdullah, Datuk Rashid Sidek, Ng Shu Wai and Dato Pandelela Rinong.

Mr. Juan Aranols, Chief Executive Officer, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad, said, “As part of Nestlé’s aim of encouraging healthier lifestyles among Malaysians, for the past seven decades, MILO has been dedicated to shaping the future of sports in the nation. Reflecting this, our partnership with OCM has flourished since it began in the 1950’s, where the Malayan Contingent made its historic debut at the 16th Olympic Games, and throughout the years MILO and OCM have continued to join hands to develop and nurture our country’s sporting values and talent. Through our continued collaboration with OCM alongside our grassroots sports programmes, we remain committed to inspiring the next generation of world-class Malaysian athletes.”

Datuk Hj. Hamidin, Deputy President of OCM commented, “Since 1956, MILO has been OCM’s longest-standing partner. Every consecutive year for the past 68 years together with OCM, MILO has played an instrumental role in creating opportunities for Malaysian athletes to hone their talents and represent Malaya/Malaysia on the regional and global stage, supporting more than 16 Contingents to the Olympic Games (511 athletes), 2 Contingents to the Olympic Winter Games (4 athletes), 3 Contingents to the Youth Olympic Games (53 athletes) and 2 Contingents to the Winter Youth Olympic Games (3 athletes). Furthermore, MILO has also supported the Malaysian Contingent to 17 Asian Games (2,775 athletes), 16 Commonwealth Games (1,345 athletes) and 32 SEA Games (12,391 athletes). We are pleased to renew once again our fruitful collaboration with MILO to continue supporting our talented Malaysian Contingents.”

The sponsorship agreement will see the partnership continue until 2028, with MILO providing financial support and in-kind contributions for the Malaysian contingent to compete in the Olympic Games 2024 and the Paralympic Games 2024, amongst others.

MILO actively encourages sports participation and healthy active lifestyles through its various programmes that many Malaysians look forward to each year, garnering participation from nearly 8 million individuals across the nation. This includes the MILO Champions Clinic, MILO Hidup Bola, MSSM and MILO Breakfast Day. Along with its partnerships with OCM and other prominent sports councils, these initiatives are part of MILO’s commitment to help shape the future of sports for Malaysia.
