L’oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Damage Repair Leave-On Oil Serum

There are a few hair oils pending review but I decided to try this one first because I am curious about how a drugstore hair oil will fare against the more expensive salon exclusive versions. as my hair has undergone numerous chemical treatments in particular rebonding several times a year, it’s no surprise that my hair is not looking healthy/shiny/in optimum condition which leads random hairstylists to shake their heads in shock and horror when they examine my hair.

My hair feels coarse and dry especially in the mornings so a hair oil would be most helpful in restoring softness and manageability. So what are the 5 signs of damaged hair which L’oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Damage Repair Leave-On Oil Serum claims to repair? They are (1) breakage (2) dryness (3) dullness (4) coarseness (5) split ends.

While I don’t think my hair is that vulnerable to breakage, it has seen better days and I would love for my hair to look less dry and dull, as well as feel less coarse. L’oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Damage Repair Leave-On Oil Serum is enriched with the unique Cement-Ceramide which is a replica of hair’s natural cement. Damaged hair contains little to no ceramides so L’oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Damage Repair Leave-On Oil Serum works to repair existing damage.

The oil isn’t very thick in consistency and smells nice as if this is a salon brand. I have used it on wet and dry hair. It’s very good for protecting my hair against styling tools such as the hair dryer and straightener as my hair still feels soft and not dry after it’s gone through the styling tools.

Once the oil has been applied, my hair looks more bouncy but with no improvement on frizziness so this isn’t a frizz control product. My hair remains soft till the next morning when I need to re-apply the oil. My hair gets coarse again the next morning. It’s good for restoring immediate softness but that softness doesn’t last till the next day.

L’oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Damage Repair Leave-On Oil Serum retails at RM27.90/80ml.
