Eight Malaysians Drive Home Brand-New Proton X50 SUV from Nestlé

The much-anticipated announcement is finally here! Nestlé Malaysia today unveiled the winners of the Peraduan Nestlé Niu Year (Nestlé Niu Year Contest), which gave Malaysians the opportunity to double their prosperity and win prizes worth more than RM900,000 in conjunction with Chinese New Year.

With more than 300,000 contest entries submitted in 8 weeks from 8 January to 8 March 2021, eight Malaysians from across the nation emerged as the grand prize winners, taking home a brand-new Proton X50 SUV worth more than RM81,000 each.

Ms. April Wong, Business Executive Officer, Ready to Drink Business Unit, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad said, “Every year, we strive to reward consumers with exciting offerings and experiences. All the more so in this challenging time, we were pleased to be able to share the joy with Malaysians during the Chinese New Year celebrations. On behalf of Nestlé, congratulations to all the eight grand prize winners who bagged themselves the highly sought-after Proton’s X50 SUV!”

Ecstatic to have won the car, Ng Tak Kwai, 61 from Gopeng, Perak said, “For the longest time, I have always wanted to gift my wife something special. We have been married for over 30 years and finally, she will be receiving this brand-new car. Being a loyal consumer of Nestlé has truly been rewarding!”

Ooi Yun Lin, 27, from Georgetown, Penang said, “Never in a million years would I have imagined winning my first car! I have been commuting to work by public transportation. Now, I will be able to go to work without having to worry about missing the bus or being late! For this, I am especially grateful to Nestlé Malaysia for organising this wonderful contest.”

Another winner, Mohd Khairunnizam Bin Mahmod, 38, from Rembau, Negeri Sembilan said, “This win definitely came as a surprise to me! What’s even more meaningful is that this is my first time winning a contest, and to bag the grand prize is an unimaginable feeling. As the Proton X50 SUV is spacious, it will serve as our family car. My wife and children can now ride comfortably, thanks to Nestlé Malaysia!”

Eriawati Binti Samadi, 34, from Serendah, Selangor said, “Drives with four kids are never easy, especially in a small car, and my husband and I have always wanted an upgrade. Who knew that just by buying our favorite Nestlé products such as MILO and NESCAFÉ Ready to Drink, we would win ourselves a brand-new Proton X50 SUV!”

In addition to the grand prize winners, 256 Malaysians won cash prizes worth more than RM250,000 in the Nestlé Niu Year Contest. This included cash prizes of RM2,888 each to 16 first prize winners, while 240 second prize winners walked away with cash prizes of RM888 each.

To participate in this contest, consumers simply had to purchase any of Nestlé’s Ready-to-Drink products ranging from popular brands such as MILO, NESCAFÉ, JUST MILK and Nestlé Omega Plus, worth RM5 in a single receipt. Doubling the ‘ONG’, participants were able to submit as many entries they like to stand a higher chance of winning. The contest was open to Malaysians nationwide.
