The year was 1981, just one year after “The Blue Lagoon” came out (I know most of you weren’t even born yet). One of my aunts thought it’d be a good idea to let me and my young cousins watch “The Blue Lagoon” on video starring the 14 year old Brooke Shields and 19 year old Christopher Atkins so that we’d be educated in the “birds and bees” department or at least draw our own conclusions without the adults having to explain anything. I thought Brooke Shields was beautiful and yes, I did gain some knowledge from that movie.
So fast forward to more than 30 years later and Brooke is an icon. She has teamed up with MAC for her eponymous collection. Brooke’s signature embossed on light grey packaging with brilliant orange accents. I read somewhere that Brooke started wearing more make-up at her daughter’s request.
