The latest MAC collection instore is the Matte Lip Collection, some of the shades do look very vivid, bright and vibrant while others are more neutral and brown! In any case, you can expect these to be more long-lasting since they have a matte finish but unfortunately for me, my aging lips don’t take well to matte lip products, they only lead to more dry and chapped lips. I know that I can apply lip gloss over matte lipsticks but I would much rather stick to lipsticks that are not matte even though they don’t last as long.

My favourite shade is the very 1st one swatched. Matte lipsticks don’t look good on my lips either as they enhance my lip lines.
Hi! I tried these lippies yesterday and i totally love the brown color. Suprisingly it looked good on me. Not pale dead looking at all. The mua told me to prep lips so the matte color wont enhance the lip line. Thanks for reviewing this. Now its totally on my must have list!
Actually, I thought the shades would look good on certain skin tones. Yeah, you definitely need to prep lips, glad you liked them anyway.
Hi Juniper, I have the same problem too. Matte lips just enhance my cracked lips. I need to keep applying millions time of lipbalm so prefer moisturising lipstick even when they do not last long.
Honestly not too impressed with the shades !!
Always have the love-hate relationship with matte lipsticsk, I love the matte finish but most of them are very drying!
hi princess and the rest that encounter a drying lip in matte lipstick, please do try using a prep+prime lip base before applying your lipstick even the retro matte and lip pencil, works great, avoid drying out of lip, and hold the lipstick for more longer time. 🙂 love, and can’t live without it.. 🙂
