Chanel Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup

It’s surprising what I can find in my drawers (not undergarments, I don’t have anything stashed there) – there are receipts, hair accessories, bits of paper which should have been thrown away ages ago and the odd beauty samples such as a sachet of Chanel Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup.

I have mixed feelings about the brand as I like the products but have been a little put off by the attitude of some of their beauty advisors. A few years ago, armed with all necessary forms of evidence and identification, as one of my friends puts it when she prepares herself to collect beauty samples, I found myself at Chanel Pavilion with a newspaper cutting to collect some of their skincare samples and was told that only Parkson Elite members were entitled to said samples although there was no such small print in the newspaper cutting (I looked for it thoroughly). Nevertheless, after much persuasion on my part and one call to their Head Office to confirm, I was reluctantly passed the samples.

Most of the time, the Chanel samples I have collected come in the form of a measly sachet which makes me wonder why I even bother. I think I’d have been more inclined to purchase their products if they weren’t so stringent in checking who is entitled to their samples. There was another incident at their boutique in 1Utama but I think that’s enough grousing for now.

It must be more than a year (maybe 2?) since I collected a sachet sample of Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup in B20 Beige. Sometimes a not-so-great experience at a beauty counter can also make me “forget” about trying out a sample.

I didn’t know all that much about Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup but my friend had raved about one of their loose powders so I knew their base make-up had to be pretty good. Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup is lightweight, so easy to apply and blend. It was almost like a mousse, so light and airy is its texture.

Coverage is sheer to medium but I was quite amazed by the light-reflecting properties of this foundation as my skin looked luminous and brighter instantly without the need for a primer. It’s not completely matte and it really felt like wearing a second skin. This foundation is ideal for anyone who dislikes thick textures in their foundation. I still can’t get over how glowy my skin looks and if it wasn’t for the fact that I am still steeling myself up to approach one of their counters, I might just rush out and get this foundation.
