Skin Glows Thanks To NYR Frankincense Duo

Ever since I was introduced to Melvita, I have begun to take more notice of facial oils which do benefit dry skin types since we need as much hydration as possible otherwise those pervasive fine lines will make their unwelcome appearance so prevention is better than cure.

Neal’s Yard Remedies has many skincare ranges for different skin types but if you are concerned about visible lines, increased dryness and reduced elasticity, then the brand recommends the Rejuvenating Frankincense range but I don’t think everyone loves the frankincense scent which strikes me as rather woody. I like it because it smells so exotic, when I smell it with my eyes closed, it’s like I am in an Eastern bazaar with the scent of spices wafting through the air. When I think of frankincense, I am reminded that it’s one of the three gifts from the Three Wise Men or the Magi to the baby Jesus. Frankincense was commonly used as a perfume in those days.

NYR Rejuvenating Frankincense Facial Oil 30ml/RM189 is a blend of frankincense and natural and organic plant oils. The bottle comes with a dropper which you can use instead of the cap but if you are travelling with it, they recommend you use the cap. The feel of this oil is silky and I can understand why it costs as much as it costs. It has an immediate softening effect on my skin and prepares it for the moisturizer. I don’t need to use a serum before this.

NYR Frankincense Intense 50g/RM350 looks and feels heavy and rich. It’s an age-defying moisturizer as it contains frankincense oil and a 3-peptide complex to support collagen production, smooth lines and increase skin’s firmness and suppleness.

Those who prefer lighter moisturisers will not like this at all. I also prefer lighter moisturisers but gave this a go because my dehydrated skin needs more and more moisture as the days pass so this looked promising and yes, applied over the facial oil, my skin glowed with hydration.

Gradually, the nasolabial line was less obvious. It provided my skin with deep nourishment and I liked the radiance it provides. The scent is lovely as it contains a blend of myrrh essential oil, baobab, macadamia and grapeseed oil with turmeric extract. This tub will last a long time as I use it very sparingly. I can see it lasting another 6 months even with daily use.
