Shu Uemura Red Juvenus Range

For someone who purchased Shu Uemura products rarely in the past and none since their new eyeshadows were launched, I realised I have quite a few Shu Uemura deluxe samples around including 2 sets of Red:Juvenus samples consisting of:-

• Vitalizing Refining Lotion Enriched
• Intense Vitalizing Concentrate
• Vitalizing Retexturing Emulsion

Red:Juvenus is one of Shu’s anti-ageing ranges (the other being Phyto-Black) and addresses the first signs of ageing so I presume that means even ladies who are in their 20s can start using this range which was launched in 2009.

The purpose of Red:Juvenus is to prevent first signs of aging such as dull skin, loss of elasticity, and fine lines. It is designed to protect against free radicals and vitalize skin cells by enhancing the flow of essential elements for youthfully, radiant skin. Each product in the range contains Shu’s proprietary Phyto-Red Energy Complex comprised of Amalaki, Pomegranate and Lycopene Capsule 2X.

The Vitalizing Refining Lotion Enriched contains Hibiscus Extract to help renew and refine the look of skin’s surface. It is a little thicker than the average toner, this is has a gel-like texture but is still easily absorbed on to a cotton pad for application. I like this one because it has an immediate softening effect on my skin and gives it a hydration boost.

The Intense Vitalizing Concentrate is a translucent yellow and very lightweight serum which has the highest amount of Phyto-Red Energy Complex. This product is supposed to be able to correct fine lines (not that I have noticed any correcting after 2 x 10ml bottles).

Lastly, there’s the Vitalizing Retexturing Emulsion which is enriched with Meadowfoam Seed Oil and Hyaluronic Acid. This one has a light, milky texture which doesn’t feel heavy on skin. Just like the Concentrate, the Emulsion has a fruity scent which is pleasing to the olfactory senses.
