The gel reacts when exposed to LED light through the Philips Zoom! Whitening light technology, breaking down the particles in yellow or brown stains on the teeth, transforming the whiteness of the teeth in just 45 minutes.
The four-stage process of Philips Zoom! Whitening is as follows:
Stage One : The Philips Zoom! Whitening gel is applied onto the surface of the teeth.
Stage Two : The chemical reaction takes place whereby peroxide – the yellow or brown staining on teeth – reacts with the ferrous gluconate in the gel to produce radicals.
Stage Three : The Philips Zoom! Whitening gel immediately reacts with the LED light through a photo-fenton reaction.
Stage Four : The light cyclically renews the iron and continues to produce radicals, significantly producing whitening results over the span of the treatment.
The cycle is repeated 3x, with the Zoom! Whitening gel being reapplied in between each cycle. Results are immediate and visible in only one clinic visit.
