There’s nothing my sweet natured Juliet, Spitz of unknown age, likes more than rolling around in some lizard or frog carcass. As soon as she finds one, she rolls her body in its remains as if it’s a bed of roses. Is it in almost every dog’s nature to smell as gross as possible and possibly, what smells like rotting carcass to humans is the most heavenly scent for them otherwise why would they want to roll around in all things repulsive and repugnant to us? Here’s Juliet’s review of AromaDog by AromaFabulous’ Handmade Shampoo & Conditioner which were used on her after she’d had a gala time in the garden.

It was just one of those gloomy days and I was feeling so bored, same old, same old routine everyday. I went around the garden hoping to find some dead lizard to roll around in since there was no one at the gate to bark at. Was I in luck! I found a dead frog. This was much better than a small lizard since I could cover my entire body in its scent.

After rolling around the frog carcass for a while, I went back into the house only to be confronted by my mum who wasn’t pleased. She turned up her nose at me and hauled me outside for a bath. She knew I’d been up to no good but she doesn’t understand that dogs just like to have fun this way. Before she turned the hose on me, she made me pose with the bath products.

Do I look as if I am smiling? Of course not. Which dog in his or her right mind would want a bath? I tried to run but my mum was too quick. She kept her eyes on me as she brought the bath products to the bath area. She told me I was lucky to be bathed with AromaDog by AromaFabulous’ Handmade Shampoo & Conditioner.

First, my mum lathered my body with the shampoo which contains rich essential oils of peppermint, lavender, sweet orange, rose geranium, citronella and eucalyptus. It’s quite a runny shampoo but it felt pretty good to be massaged as I was bathed.

Next, the conditioner was applied on me. It contains the same essential oils as the shampoo with the addition of sweet almond oil. The conditioner was thicker than the shampoo. It had a stronger scent than the shampoo. My mum loved the scent, she kept telling me I’d smell so good after this.

Finally, it was over. I was hauled over to be blow dried which is my favourite part of the whole process. After all, I do like being pampered. My mum said my fur felt so soft once it was dry. I can’t say I love the scent since if it was up to me, I’d rather be smelling of some foul, rotting carcass but my mum has other ideas. Apparently, humans prefer the scent of essential oils, they think it’s aromatherapeutic. Not to me though, I’m off to seek out another dead frog (when my mum’s not looking, of course!)

Looking good after the blow dry

It’s a dog’s life but I must admit I am getting more hugs and attention from my mum after my bath so it’s worth it. AromaDog Handmade Shampoos are 460ml and Conditioners are 260ml. The products are ideal for dogs with sensitive skins. For more info, check out www.aromafab.com.
