Vain & Glorious Lip Bag Kit From MAC’s Tartan Tale Holiday 2010
The Blue Flamingo, a true blue MAC addict, checks out the Vain & Glorious Lip Bag Kit.
One of the mini kits in this year’s Tartan Tale Holiday 2010 Collection from MAC is the Vain & Glorious Lip Bag. This four piece set comes in a cardboard box with red tartan print (front & sides) and dark green tartan print (at the back) and is embossed with a gold MAC crest in front. It consists of a full sized (3g) lipstick, Mellow Mood, a mini (0.73g) lip pencil, In Synch and a full sized Dazzleglass lip gloss (1.92g), called Baby Sparks.
The square Lip Bag measures 5.25” X 5.25” and is made out of a combination of a red and a dark green tartan fabric juxtaposed together with a black PU corner patch with mini gold metal button rivets both in front and at the back. A gold MAC crest can be found in front of the bag.
The Baby Sparks Dazzleglass lip gloss in this set is a light sparkly baby pink colour. It was also in last year’s Magic Mirth and Mischief Holiday Collection. Last year, the Baby Sparks Dazzleglass was also part of a four piece limited edition mini collection, Put a Spell On You. Apart from Baby Sparks, the other items in that mini collection was, a lipstick, Dream (Texture: Glaze), a mini Lip Pencil, Dervish and a mini pouch.
This year, Baby Sparks has again been repromoted by MAC probably due to its popularity. Baby Sparks is also available in MAC’s permanent collection of Dazzleglass lip glosses. In 2008, Baby Sparks was also part of Mac’s Holiday Red She Said Collection.
The Vain & Glorious Lip Bag also contains the limited edition lip pencil, In Synch. This lip pencil is a light pink colour and I think it would go very well indeed if used together with this year’s Viva Glam Gaga lipstick, which also happens to be a lovely shade of pink. This lip pencil can also be used in combination with the Baby Sparks Dazzleglass lip gloss for a natural day look.
The Mellow Mood lipstick (Texture: Lustre) is a brown pink colour which I think it will work better for those with darker complexions. This lipstick is also a limited edition shade. For a touch of glamour, it can be amped up a notch with a sweep of the Baby Sparks Dazzleglass lip gloss.
