The eagerly-awaited Go Digital Summit: Gemini for Google Cloud Day 2024, hosted by PointStar, a leader in cloud AI transformation and digital solutions, took place today at Le Meridien Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. This year’s event centred on a comprehensive exploration of Gemini, Google’s most advanced generative AI multimodal solutions demonstrating its transformative potential across various industries and business functions.

In collaboration with Google Cloud, the event featured a comprehensive program including keynotes, breakout sessions, live solution showcases, and networking opportunities. The agenda delved into how Gemini can revolutionise workflows, enhance collaboration, and drive innovation. A key moment was the reveal of the Digital Acceleration for Learning and Industry Adoption (DALIA) 2.0 programme, a continuation of the successful DALIA programme launched during Google Cloud Day in 2023, in partnership with the Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC), a government agency under the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI).

Justin Lee, Dr. Mohamad Norjayadi Tamam and Michael Hoo dive deeper into the day’s topics at the press conference

The DALIA programme, recognised as MPC’s flagship Productivity Step Up Programme, has appointed Pointstar as the primary technology consultant. In 2023, this programme mentored nearly 100 organisations in Malaysia to start their digitalisation journeys through Google Cloud’s AppSheet solutions, a no-code development platform. Building on its success, the DALIA 2.0 programme aims to assist even more companies in 2024. DALIA 2.0 is launching a new step-up programme – the AI Transformation Adoption Programme. This programme will help each participating company to implement AI and Cloud solutions that will achieve a minimum of RM 1 million productivity gain over 3 years.

“We are excited to celebrate Go Digital Summit: Gemini for Google Cloud Day in conjunction with the DALIA programme launch for two years and counting,” expressed Justin Lee, Chief Executive Officer of PointStar. “We hope that through today’s event, more organisations are empowered to adopt AI and embark on their own transformative journey, driving exceptional growth and readiness for the future.”

With three hundred attendees, the summit highlighted how integrating AI such as Gemini can tackle significant business challenges. The event featured keynotes and breakout sessions on AI optimisation strategies from industry experts at Logitech, Yubico, Wood Wing, PIKOM, QSR Brands, and others. Additionally, guests had the opportunity to explore transformative solution showcases presented by featured vendors, engaging with cutting-edge innovations firsthand.

Michael Hoo, Head of Customer Engineering, Google Cloud in Malaysia, said, “The Go-Digital Summit showcased what’s possible when businesses of all sizes leverage generative AI and Google’s Gemini models on Vertex AI to supercharge their productivity and enhance decision-making. We are pleased to expand our partnership with PointStar and MPC to equip Malaysian organisations with advanced AI and Cloud technologies, and empower them with the expertise they need to thrive in this new AI era.”
