Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA Sepang Celebrates All Things Badminton In Conjunction With National Day & Malaysia Day

Calling all badminton fans. Get excited, as Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA Sepang (MOP KLIA), Japan’s branded factory outlet shopping mall, is organising the first of its kind badminton event from now until 17 September 2023. This event is organised in conjunction with the National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations.

Visitors to MOP KLIA will be awestruck when they witness the transformation of Sunshine Square to a mini badminton stadium as MOP KLIA prepares for its badminton event. Organised  in collaboration with the Academy Badminton Malaysia, visitors can participate in friendly badminton matches.

Among badminton stars who will be making appearances include Olympian Woon Khe Wei, former national players Ng Sin Zou, Daphne Ng and Sabrina Chong as well as national men’s doubles Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani.

In celebrating our nation’s 66 years of independence and our national sport, shoppers can experience the 360° photography against a Merdeka and badminton-themed backdrop. It’s available only  during the weekends throughout the celebratory period and limited to the first 100 eligible customers per day.

500 Malaysia flags will also be given out to every visitor on the 31st of August. In addition, shoppers with a minimum spend of RM200 in a maximum of two (2) receipts are also eligible to redeem a limited-edition National Day shopping bag.

TJ Cheah, Deputy Managing Director of MFMA Development Sdn Bhd said this event is a testament of MOP KLIA’s commitment in offering unique shopping experiences as well as ensuring worthwhile visits to MOP KLIA apart from the great discount offers.

“Shoppers who want to take a break from shopping can participate in fun games, workshops and events before they continue to shop,” he said.

“In conjunction with the upcoming National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, we are bringing Malaysians their favourite national sport to the mall. It’ll be an opportunity to watch badminton ‘live’ featuring current and former national badminton players,” added TJ.

Shopping has always been made rewarding at MOP KLIA and especially now, with a chance to win a pair of flight tickets when shoppers spend a minimum of RM660 in a maximum of two (2) receipts. More information on the contest is available via the official website, social medias and Mitsui Shopping Park MY App.

To add on to the excitement, an Adidas pop-up store offering an exclusive friends and family sale of up to 70% discount will be at Sunshine Square from 8th to 17th September 2023.

During the month-long celebrations, customers are welcome to take part in various activities organised for the family.
