Now this is one MAC Cosmetics Collection I’ll be counting the days till the launch because I was a HUGE Archie Comics fan when I was a teenager. I still have an Archie t-shirt which I wear from time to time. I’d buy the latest edition of Archie from my neighbourhood newsagent every week and devour the pages. The rivalry between Archie and Reggie forever vying for the attention of the brunette Veronica, the colourful characters such as Jughead Jones and Moose Mason, the competition between Veronica and Betty for Archie’s attention – all these elements made Archie Comics unforgettable and timeless.
When I heard that MAC Cosmetics will be collaborating with Archie Comics on a full colour cosmetics collection coming Spring 2013 celebrating the iconic looks of Betty and Veronica, I was ecstatic. It may be a long time since I have read any Archie Comics but I remain a forever fan.
M·A·C Cosmetics kicked-off the start of San Diego Comic Con with a special event at their Gaslamp store with celebrated American comic book artist and illustrator, Dan Parent of the famed Archie Comics series. Dan demonstrated illustrations and provided custom sketches for fans who dropped into the M·A·C Cosmetics location just steps away from the San Diego Convention Center.
