Launch Of Brewfest 2012

Brewfest 2012, a first-of-its-kind festival was launched at The Square, Publika, Solaris Dutamas, Kuala Lumpur this afternoon. This festival brings together more than 50 premium and craft beers. For three consecutive days, between 17 to 19 May 2012, merry beer fans, tourists and city dwellers can taste and toast to a myriad of beers gathered from around the world.

According to Cheryl Loi, Brand and Marketing Director of Loile BDMP and organiser of the festival, Brewfest 2012 is not only to introduce such fine products but also to equally share and grow knowledge amongst Malaysians so that they would have better understanding and appreciation towards the brewing industry.

Cheryl Loi organised Brewfest 2012 to offer Malaysian consumers the golden opportunity to revel in the rare yet exquisite brews, be they bottled, canned or draught, from Germany, Belgium, England, Scotland, Australia, Japan and the United States. Most are not readily available in the local market.

Some of the interesting brands featured at Brewfest 2012 include Hitachino Nest, Timmermans, Yona Yona Ale, J. Boag & Sons, Chimay, Triple Karmelier, Abbaye de Forest, Trappistes, Thornbridge, Inveralmond, 3 Ravens and Mornington, to name a few. There are also beers on top of the usual stouts, ales and lagers where consumers get to enjoy rare rice pilsners from Japan or even Lambic and fruit beers from Belgium.

Brewfest 2012 is open from 5.30pm – 1.00am on 17 May 2012 and from 5.00pm – 1.00am on 18 and 19 May 2012. Only non-muslim adults above 18 years of age are allowed. Please visit www.mybrewfest.com or Facebook page www.facebook.com/BeersandCheers for more information.
