Kérastase Elixir Ultime was launched in 2010 and now introduces the Beautifying Oil Masque to complement the Elixir Ultime Sublime Cleansing Oil Shampoo. Kérastase has a 24 carats in-salon ritual which starts with a double application of Elixir Ultime Shampoo. Next, a dose of Elixir Ultime original oil is then blended with the Masque in a bowl. The Kérastase hairdresser applies this treatment lock by lock with a spatula, delicately massages the hair, and then rinses thoroughly. The ritual ends with the application of the Elixir Ultime oil that best suits the individual needs of the hair (ELIXIR ULTIME or one of the three ELIXIR ULTIME GRANDS CRUS: for colour-treated hair, for damaged hair or for fine, sensitised hair).
No, I haven’t tried the 20-minute ritual described above. I wish I could because it sounds truly pampering but the next best thing to that is trying out the Elixir Ultime Sublime Cleansing Oil Shampoo & Beautifying Oil Masque at home.
Looks like liquid gold! It produces lots of foam and feels soothing on my scalp. It contains a high concentration of precious oils for removing impurities and offers deep, gentle care, without weighing down the hair. I do need conditioner when using this shampoo though as my hair is tangled which is where the next product comes in.
Elixir Ultime Sublime Cleansing Oil Shampoo (silicone-free) is RM78/250ml.
This masque contains an infusion of four highly concentrated precious oils:-
Pracaxi oil : originating from Amazonian regions, it is known for its anti-oxidant benefits. It enhances hair shine and nourishment.
Argan oil : one of the rarest oils in the world, it is prized for its reparative and regenerative properties. It helps to keep the hair light and supple.
Maize oil : rich in vitamins A, E and Omega 6, it is extracted from Central American maize-germ. It nourishes the hair, offering shine, softness and protection.
Camellia oil : Native to Central and Eastern Asia, it is the most fragrant and luxurious of the oils. It gives magnificent shine and suppleness to the hair and helps to smooth the hair fibre.
After rinsing off the shampoo, I apply this masque and leave it on for at least 5 minutes. When I wash it off, my hair feels a lot lighter and when I have blow dried my hair, it feels so unbelievably lightweight. This is an ideal masque especially for people with long hair who feel weighed down. Of course, hair is also much smoother and softer with this treatment and it stays that way for days afterwards.
