Not Just Sushi At Sushi Zanmai

For the longest time, I couldn’t figure out why there were almost constant queues outside Sushi Zanmai outlets. People were willing to wait at least half an hour to an hour for a table, the food must be good. I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of time I have been to a Sushi Zanmai outlet. I don’t have the patience to queue up a long time for a table, no matter how good the food is.

When Sushi Zanmai at Avenue K opened, I discovered the queues were a lot shorter than at other outlets and sometimes there was no queue at all. I also discovered that while the sushi was nicely presented and reasonably tasty (of course nothing comes close to Kampachi) Sushi Zanmai had other dishes that were pretty good and priced reasonably like their Treasure Hotpot which comes with a bowl of rice (below RM17).

I like this one because there’s mushrooms and the fish fillets taste fresh. The soup is also very hearty and palatable without making me thirsty afterwards. Even without any additional dishes, this is quite filling and satisfying.
