For the past fortnight, I’ve been using a 30g Gamila Secret Cleansing Bar during my shower and occasionally to cleanse my face and it doubles up as a mask too. Gamila Secret soaps are formulated from a combination of natural oils and herbs. They are handmade and contain a minimum of 80% Pure Virgin Oil (Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Avocado Oil, Laurel Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Shea Butter) and 15 herbs : roman nettle, lavender, chamomile, rosemary, vervain, sage, rue, pistachio and an esoteric mixture of seven herbs handpicked and carefully selected by Gamila, the founder of the brand who had no formal education but learned the ancient art of making soap from wild herbs and olive oil as a child.
Their famous cleansing bar is also known as the ‘magic bar’ (by the way, Gamila products are sold in Sasa Hong Kong outlets) manufactured through a painstaking and long process which includes 40 hours cooking process, period of 4 to 6 months for drying, stamping and curving the edges.

To use the Cleansing Bar to its full advantage, one has to moisten the Cleansing Bar with warm water between hands, to activate the 100% natural living ingredient. Next, massage the Cleansing Bar until a creamy texture appears. Apply the creamy texture directly on face & body and massage it for approximately 15 seconds. The creamy texture can be used as shaving cream, aiding against ingrowing hairs and for soothing irritated skin. It’s recommended that the creamy texture be absorbed into open pores when bathing.
You have to be a bit patient with the Cleansing Bar since it really does take longer (than your average soap) to lather up. The foam isn’t as thick or as much as commercial soaps. I can feel that this is a very gentle soap which doesn’t strip skin of moisture. Even when I apply it on to my face and leave it on as a mask, it doesn’t dry up my skin. Every part of my skin feels soft, soothed and protected against dehydration.
There are 10 types of Cleansing Bars each with its own signature scent. My sample was Original which contains no essential oils. Original is for hydrating and strengthening skin as well as preventing irritations. Apparently, it is suitable for use on 0 to 6 months infants too. Original is available in 30g/RM66 and 115g/RM119.

hey 🙂 i just orderd this soap(the original). im abit afraid that this kind is not suitable for my problem:/ i have acne i think i shoudve order the lemongrass one. what do you think the original prevent and heals acne?
I don’t think the original one prevents/heals acne. The lemongrass would have been a better choice because it’s for balancing oily skin and reducing acne.
