On The Food Trail Jalan Ampang : Dharma Realm Guan Yin Sagely Monastery Canteen

dsc_0232Since my appointment was at Wisma MCA this morning, it made sense to have lunch at Dharma Realm Guan Yin Sagely Monastery Canteen, literally a stone’s throw away. I guessed it would be popular and I was right. There were people of all races sitting in that canteen and queuing up for the food. The plate was surprisingly heavy and big. It was so big that I helped myself to more rice than I should have (but at least I finished every last bit so zero wastage).

I thought it might be hot in there with so many people but it’s airy and quite pleasant. Because there are several areas where people can help themselves to the food (they also serve noodles), there was no congestion and paying at the cashiers was fast. It wasn’t difficult looking for an empty table even though not in the main area. No eggs, garlic or onions are in any of the food but it tasted delicious and best thing is the price, I took 3 choices and it was just RM7.50 plus another RM1.50 for the chrysanthemum tea.

dsc_0235A modest but so satisfying lunch. If I was working in that area, I would definitely be there a few times a week. Who doesn’t want an appetising, filling AND economical lunch? Dharma Realm Guan Yin Sagely Monastery Canteen is THE place to head to for a holistic lunch.
