Mr Leron Yee, Founder of DKING said, “The Malaysia International Cultural Fest was born out of our desire to promote Malaysia’s Durian (The King of Fruits) on a global scale. Our vision is to create a month-long feast dedicated to this beloved fruit, where people from all corners of the world can discover the wonders of Malaysia’s Durians. Similar to the renowned Oktoberfest in Western countries during October, we envision a Durian Fest in July, adding a distinctive purpose to Malaysia’s cultural calendar and enticing travelers to visit our beautiful country.”

MAE by Maybank is the official banking partner of this event. Do take advantage of this exclusive offer – when you pay for your buffet ticket using MAE, you will enjoy a special RM10 rebate.

Datuk Musa Hj Yusof, Deputy Director-General of the Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board (Tourism Malaysia) said, “While Malaysia accounts for just 5% of the global durian export volume, it has steadily expanded its durian industry to be one of the top durian-producing countries in the world, with a 107% increase in the country’s durian export value US$34.7 million.”

“This year we are also working to receive 5 million Chinese tourists with a 60% increase compared to what we received in 2019. In total we target to receive 15.6 million international tourist arrivals with MYR47.6 billion in tourism receipts. This influx of visitors will not only contribute to our tourism industry but also boost Malaysia’s GDP through accommodation, food and overall spending.”
