Malaysia Grand Bazaar Is a Melting Pot Of Local Arts And Crafts

As Malaysians, we all love our bazaars but most of the time, bazaars are at open air spaces where it can get quite hot and after a while, it gets tiring. Now there’s a dedicated bazaar for Malaysian businesses, there’s food, arts and crafts galore @ Malaysia Grand Bazaar (MGB) with easy access to LaLaport (more than one way to walk across).

It’s comfortable to walk around MGB which has just 2 floors. Along the way, taste some popcorn or get your caricature sketched for free. There are premium candies, potted plants, clothes and more.

My favourite part of MGB is the space where visitors can play traditional games like congkak. It brought back memories of the 80s when I used to bring over my congkak set to my Indian neighbour’s house on weekends. I used to play congkak with my neighbour’s mother, a lovely lady who I miss as much as my own grandmother.

MGB reminded me a little of Central Market where I used to visit in the early 90s as there weren’t as many malls back then as now. Hopefully, there will be a lot more visitors to MGB when the foreign tourists return. When I visited a few weeks ago, parking was free but I am not sure if it is still free now. MGB’s parking entrance is just before LaLaport’s parking entrance, blink and you might miss it. I had to reverse as I’d bypassed MGB’s parking entrance.
