The Blacklist Season 3 Episode 1 : The Troll Farmer

I’ve been waiting months for The Blacklist Season 3 Episode 1 and finally I watched it on Friday 10pm on AXN. James Spader is such a fantastic actor, he excels in every single role and I am a huge fan. I can’t think of any other actor who fits the role of criminal mastermind extraordinaire, Raymond Reddington. Such an awesomely cool character that even though he’s the bad guy, he has everyone rooting for him.

In The Blacklist Season 3 Episode 1, Red and Liz are on the run with Ressler hot on their heels. There are some nail-biting moments such as when Ressler arrives at their hiding place in the bunker of a bar and Red and Liz escape just in the nick of time.

My favourite moments of this episode – when Red first glances at Liz after she has dyed her hair blond and is speechless as she reminds him so much of her mother (can’t wait to find out what connection Red has to Liz’s mum and whether Liz’s mum is still alive) and the part where they break into an apartment and Red and the maid exchange pleasantries. Red is such a gentleman even when he is being bad!

This episode is about The Troll Farmer, an Asian dude whose expertise is in using social media to make things happen. Red relies on The Troll Farmer to tweet etc. about Liz’s sightings so as to mislead Ressler and his team. Red gives up The Troll Farmer to Ressler in exchange for Liz’s safe passage. The episode ends with Liz seeking refuge at the Russian Embassy under her birth name “Marsha Rostova” and informs the guards at the Embassy that she is a Russian agent. Ressler almost arrests her but Liz clambers over the gate in time. I was on the edge of my seat, can’t wait for subsequent episodes!

  1. Looks like the new villain, Mr. Solomon, who kidnapped Dembe’s granddaughter, is also going to keep us intrigued for many more episodes to come. What is going to happen to Dembe? Can we expect Tom/Jacob to come and rescue Liz/Masha soon? We’ll just have to wait and see …..
