Bio-Oil

This is a product which really doesn’t need much introduction to many people as most of us have seen it in drugstores and most probably used it as well as it’s a very popular multi-purpose oil for face, hair and body. For a drugstore product, the ingredients look like they’re from a more luxurious brand as there’s a blend of calendula, rosemary, lavender and chamomile oils.

For the past 3-4 weeks, I have been using Bio-Oil on my face including the eye area. I usually apply this either before moisturizer or in place of moisturizer since I do find the oil hydrating enough. It’s a very light oil and absorbs into skin very quickly without a trace of stickiness.

I’d rather use Bio-Oil on my hands than hand cream because Bio-Oil is great for making my hands look smoother and feel softer. Fine lines on my wrist are less obvious after one application of Bio-Oil. Bio-Oil is also very good for my dry cuticles. I don’t need a separate cuticle oil.

It’s best to apply Bio-Oil on the body right after a shower when skin is still damp. The optimum results are felt then as skin absorbs Bio-Oil even quicker. Whenever my hair looks frizzy, I use Bio-Oil as a quick fix as it can tame the frizz and make hair more manageable.

The opening on the bottle is just the right size to dispense what one needs for each application. It’s neither too big nor too small. I prefer this to a pump bottle because from my experience, pump bottles which dispense oil can sometimes have a leakage problem.

Bio-Oil can also be used as a makeup primer because all I have to do is add a drop of Bio-Oil to my liquid foundation to get a luminous and radiant complexion. This is truly a multi-purpose oil and after using it, I can understand why it’s so popular among consumers.
