Wondermama X Avenue K

I am sure that one of the reasons why Wondermama X Avenue K has more business than most of the other eateries upstairs is because of its strategic location just inside one of the mall entrances. If you are starving and rushing into the mall to get fed, you are quite likely to go to the 1st eatery you see especially one that is as crowded as Wondermama X on most weekdays.

Scrutinising the menu, I was deliberating on whether to have a pasta or the nasi lemak of which there’re a few variations including one that comes with salmon. I settled for the most basic nasi lemak which at RM17.90 should probably not be described as “basic” as it is a big platter even for me. Generous serving of rice (very fluffy and fragrant), a few pieces of Japanese fried chicken (called Japanese because of the batter?), sambal in a separate bowl (very thoughtful and I appreciate that as the sambal doesn’t mingle with the rice), prawn crackers, a whole hard boiled egg (now that is good of them as most restaurants will only serve half an egg), peanuts and vegetables.

The fried chicken was not oily and it was crispy to perfection, marvelous. I liked everything about this dish and I wouldn’t hesitate to order it again the next time I am at Wondermama X Avenue K.

My only complaint is every time I’ve been there and the bill has been paid, they take far too long to bring back the change. People are in a hurry to get back to work or run errands once they’ve paid, you know what I mean?
