Peranakan Place At Low Yat Plaza

baba

I have dined at Peranakan Place in 1 Utama a few times but didn’t know there was an outlet at Low Yat Plaza until last week. I don’t go to Low Yat very often and on those rare occasions I have been there, it wasn’t for the purpose of looking for a restaurant.

Anyway, Peranakan Place At Low Yat Plaza has lunch specials where you choose from noodle or rice options and they come with a free drink (3 choices). I ordered Baba Platter @ RM11.90 which comes with fragrant rice, Chicken Pong Teh, Jiu Hu Char, Sambal and Ikan Bilis.

The problem was it took more than half an hour for the platter to arrive which more or less kills one’s lunch hour. If you only have one hour for lunch, you will be panicking too. They were not even that busy.

Everything on the platter was delicious though, from the Jiu Hu Char to the tender chicken drumstick. I have always liked this Nyonya chicken and potato stew, just not sure if they had to cook this from scratch for each platter otherwise I’d like to know how this can take more than half an hour to get to me.
