Laneige White Plus Renew Range

No doubt about it, whitening or brightening skincare is big business in Asia. Regardless of age, most of us have brightening concerns, it is just a matter of level of concern. Some of us are more concerned about it than others which leads to beauty brands constantly upgrading and improving their brightening skincare range.

Laneige has completely revamped its brightening skincare range, now known as White Plus Renew. This range targets all 3 pigments i.e. melanin (brown), carotene (yellow) and hemoglobin (red) with its improved MelaCrusher™ technology. The White Plus Renew Original Essence was the first product to be introduced in this range in 2013 with this new technology.

Now joining this range are 5 products, namely the White Plus Renew Capsule Sleeping Pack, White Plus Renew Original Cream, White Plus Renew Bubble Cleanser, White Plus Renew Skin Refiner and White Plus Renew Emulsion.

During the introduction to the range, each of us had 2 test tubes on our tables and containers of Melanin and MelaCrusher™. The objective is to show the effect of MelaCrusher™ on Melanin.

We began by pouring the 2 tubs of Melanin into each test tube. Very dark, right?

Next we emptied the MelaCrusher™ tub into one of the test tubes to compare the difference. Note the colour of the liquid in the tube on the right as it contains the MelaCrusher™ mixed with the Melanin.

In a clinical study which included 1.200 women from 6 Asian countries, it was revealed that the one thing in common that these women desire is a brighter, blemish-free and a radiant complexion. Laneige concluded from this study that there are 6 core factors that determines skin clarity and radiance among Asian women, i.e. melanin production, brightness, moisture level, skintone, skintone evenness and transparency.

So what exactly is MelaCrusher™? It’s Laneige’s patented bio-brightening technology that functions to deploy our skin’s natural melanin to destroy excessive melanin in the skin through the stimulation of our natural autophagy biological process. In the improved MelaCrusher™ technology, a brightening solution is added to reduce the red, yellow and brown pigments at the same time. Key ingredients and formula used in this solution are:-

2) Truffle Yeast Extracts

3) Vitamin B3

This range is customized for Asian women with concerns in dark, yellowish and red skintones. The products are free from paraben, animal ingredients, artificial pigments and mineral oil & suitable for all skin types.

White Plus Renew Capsule Sleeping Pack 3ml x 16 (RM110)

Known as the “Mochi Sleeping Pack” in Korea, the White Plus Renew Capsule Sleeping Pack is a new innovation that features tiny capsules (cream-type brightening ampoules) floating in a transparent gel (hydrating-radiance ampoules). The sleeping pack is formulated with an optimized ratio of 1:3; 25% are brightening ampoules and 75% are hydrating-radiance ampoules.

White Plus Renew Original Cream 50ml (RM165)

Ideal for day and night use, it contains active brightening compounds and moisturizing ingredients that instantly forms a protective film to shield the skin from external stressors and pollutants. Presented in an improved gel-type texture.

White Plus Renew Bubble Cleanser 150ml (RM90)

This is an amino-acid based cleanser that is soft and has a bubble texture.

White Plus Renew Skin Refiner 120ml (RM105)

This new White Plus Renew Skin Refiner is reformulated to include the essence. It is no longer a wipe-off refiner but a pat-on skin refiner. It is made up of minuscule particles of botanical oil extracted from sugar canes for instant penetration into the skin without leaving any form of sticky residues. It also balances the oil and moisture level on the skin. It has a low viscosity gel with a milky texture.

White Plus Renew Emulsion 100ml (RM120)

White Plus Renew Emulsion works as a booster for brightening especially when it is used together with other products from the White Plus Renew line. Upon application, it gives a cooling and refreshing effect followed by a smooth, silky and moist finish to instantly hydrate and soothe dry skin.
