Activated Charcoal to absorb excess oils and impurities as it neutralizes toxins from the skin’s surface. Has exfoliating properties to refine skin and reduce pore buildup.

Although the cleanser looks black when pumped out, it turns into a milky lather when water is added. There is an instant warming sensation when I massage it into my skin with my palms and the more product I pump out, the warmer it is. However, I find that the warming sensation is not as intense if I massage it on to my skin with a puff.
This isn’t a makeup cleanser so it didn’t remove all my makeup. I need a 2nd cleanser after this one to remove all makeup residue. I prefer to use this cleanser in the mornings and a stronger cleanser in the evenings for removing makeup.
It’s actually quite a gentle/mild cleanser which doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight or dry. I do like the warming sensation because it feels like my pores have opened up and that’s good because I want my pores to open up for application of certain masks like Origins Clear Improvement® (active charcoal mask).
