MAC Snowglobe Sultry Eye Shadows From Ice Parade Collection

MAC’s Snowglobe eye shadow palettes from last year’s Ice Parade Collection brought back memories of a snowglobe I had as a child. That snowglobe had a Christmas tree and a snowman in it and it was one of my favourite toys.

I do like the silver glitter in the clear liquid design on the cover of the eye shadow palettes, it makes it very different from the MAC eye shadow palettes I have seen in the past. There were 3 Snowglobe eye shadow palettes : cool, warm and sultry.

The Sultry palette was my least favourite of the palettes simply because I found the eye shadows the most difficult to swatch of the 3 palettes. In general, they were chalky with poor colour pay-off and I would have to use an eyeshadow primer with these, without exception. There isn’t even one Veluxe Pearl eye shadow in this palette whereas the Cool and Warm palettes had 1 Veluxe Pearl left.

From the pic of the swatch above, you might think there are only 5 colours and I don’t blame you because Lightfully was near impossible to swatch. Black Tied and Shadowy Lady were also difficult to swatch but at least those are dark unlike the almost invisible Lightfully.

I have to use a brush with these colours because I can’t pick up any of the colours with my fingers. The brush included in the palette is fine for picking up the colours and for blending but I didn’t find any of the colours in this palette particularly outstanding. Of the 3 palettes, my favourite was the Warm palette as that one provided the best colour pay-off.

The Sultry palette is going to someone who will be far more appreciative of it than I can ever be. Incidentally, the Sultry palette was the only 1 of the 3 sold out at MAC Penang so perhaps I am missing something. All the palettes are 6g and retailed at RM188.
