The Curve Brings Borneo To Life With A Vibrant Cultural Festival Celebrating Heritage And Sustainability

This May, the Curve brings Borneo to you with the highly anticipated Discover Borneo 2026, happening from 6 to 17 May at Centre Court. Held in conjunction with the Hari Gawai harvest celebration, the mall transforms into an immersive cultural hotspot filled with the vibrant traditions, flavours, and craftsmanship of Sabah and Sarawak.

Guided by the theme “Bringing Tradition Towards Sustainability,” the festival celebrates heritage with purpose of supporting local communities while encouraging more conscious, experience-led engagement. It’s where culture meets creativity and tradition comes alive in a modern setting.

“Discover Borneo 2026 reflects our commitment to creating experiences that are both meaningful and forward-looking,” said Ms Elaine Liew, General Manager of the Curve. “We’re proud to support East Malaysian entrepreneurs while bringing Malaysians closer to the richness of our cultural heritage.”

At the heart of it all is the Heritage Bazaar featuring 100% authentic vendors from Sabah and Sarawak. More than just a marketplace, expect a feast of iconic dishes like kolok mee, Sarawak laksa, ‘nasi bungkus’ alongside sweet favourites such as ‘kek lapis’ and ‘gula apong’ ice cream. Beyond food, discover handcrafted treasures from pua kumbu textiles and rattan weaving to intricate beadwork and traditional accessories. Visitors can also discover natural ‘garam bukit’ and plant-based MSG derived from leaves.

The experience goes beyond shopping and dining. Visitors can enjoy vibrant cultural performances such as the Datun Julud Dance, join hands-on workshops like blowpipe and kek lapis making, and take part in interactive “Cook & Eat” sessions with exciting goodies and prizes to be won across activities.

Families can also look forward to the Borneo Kids Colouring Contest, where young creatives can showcase their imagination and stand a chance to win fun prizes making it a perfect outing for all ages.

Visitors can also explore dedicated tour booth offering curated travel packages to Sabah and Sarawak, providing an opportunity to turn inspiration into real travel experiences. Don’t miss the Stamp & Redeem initiative, where visitors can collect stamps across various touch points and redeem exclusive rewards.

More than just a festival, Discover Borneo 2026 is a celebration of culture, community, and connection bringing the best of Borneo right to the heart of the Klang Valley. Step in, explore, and experience the spirit of Borneo at the Curve, no flight needed.
