KL East Invite City Dwellers To A Free Weekend Of Art, Coffee And Good Vibes — Plus A Peek At Sime Darby Property’s Upcoming New Launch, The Reya

Picnic by the Hill is a free, family-friendly weekend filled with artisanal coffee, immersive art and nature-inspired lifestyle experiences

Set against the ancient backdrop of Malaysia’s 200-million-year-old quartz ridge, KL East invites the public to ‘Picnic by the Hill’, a free, family-friendly weekend filled with artisanal coffee, immersive art and nature-inspired lifestyle experiences.

Happening on 21 and 22 June 2025 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the open event is co-hosted with Kopilou, a homegrown full-service mobile beverage company known for their kampung-style brews and will be held at the KL East Sales Gallery. It promises a relaxed, village-meets-modern gathering in a green township just 15km from Kuala Lumpur city centre.

Visitors are invited to relax in outdoor chill domes, enjoy an indoor terrace picnic, engage in bubble play for children as well as explore lifestyle pop-ups, and a mini art exhibition

Expect outdoor chill domes, an indoor terrace picnic, bubble play for children, lifestyle pop-ups, and a mini art exhibition with dot painting by local artist Anne Rocks, who is known for her unique and vibrant art of painted rocks. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own picnic mats or ‘healing chairs’ in support of a greener, more sustainable event.

A curated line-up of F&B and artisanal vendors will be featured throughout the weekend, offering everything from kombucha to gelato and handcrafted skincare. F&B highlights include Foodsbury, Warong Hafidz, Wheel of Baking, Zam Kopi 110 (served from a Range Rover), Gadis Lemonade, ISLA’s signature banana pudding, Voyage Kitchen & Patisserie, Waffle 5, Kombuchacha, Mamagoh, Woksy Dumpling, Frosty Dream Gelato and Gustoshack. Non-F&B and art vendors include Mail Hitam (traditional Malaysian sketching and painting), Grotto Comics (collector’s comics), Gubah Malaysia (flower bar), Attaskin (skincare), a wellness check station (Saturday only), and art displays by Lukis Petang.

But that’s not all. The event also offers an exclusive first glimpse of The Reya, KL East’s upcoming premium freehold high-rise development. Thoughtfully designed for modern multi-generational living, The Reya offers 3 to 5-bedroom units, including dual-key layout options with views of the KL skyline on one side and untouched forest hills on the other. It embodies KL East’s vision of balancing urban convenience with green serenity.

KL East is a 159 acre integrated township in Desa Melawati that includes 67 acres of dedicated greenery, the 53 acres KL East Park and Micro Forest, KL East Mall, and the KYS KL East International School. It is also seamlessly connected via six major highways and is close to the Gombak LRT and the upcoming East Coast Rail Link (“ECRL”) station, which is set to begin operations in 2027.

Whether you are house hunting or simply in need of a break, Picnic by the Hill is a chance to explore what KL East has to offer while relaxing with coffee, views, and good company. The first 50 visitors to register their interest in The Reya will receive a complimentary beverage from Kopilou.
