Yesterday evening, a group of 18 autistic children from the National Autistic Society of Malaysia (NASOM) were invited for an exclusive visit to Santa’s Workshop as part of the mall’s annual Christmas initiative to give back to the community.
Besides being the first few to explore the wonders of Santa’s Workshop, the children enjoyed many entertaining performances including a contemporary Christmas quartet as well as having the chance to sing along to Christmas carols. On top of that, the children were taken on a private tour on Santa’s sleigh ride with the elves and reindeers at KLCC Esplanade that overlooks the KLCC Symphony Fountain.
Andrew Brien, CEO of Suria KLCC
“The children from NASOM have been very close to our hearts. In addition to our annual Purple Day campaign to increase awareness about autism and raise funds for NASOM, this is the first Christmas where we are hosting them at Suria KLCC. This makes it an even more special Christmas celebration for us as much as we would like it to be for them. We also hope that more people would come forward to give them the gift of a helping hand they really need not only this Christmas but all year long,” said Andrew Brien, CEO of Suria KLCC.
While tucking into a Christmas spread at Chinoz on the Park, the children were given another surprise by the management of Suria KLCC. Staff volunteers and the management team handed out Christmas presents to the excited children together with Santa Claus and his Elf who entertained and gave out candy canes.
