Sephora @ Starhill Gallery was more crowded than usual last Sunday largely due to the presence of Urban Decay’s Brand Ambassador, Steve Kassajikian who made his maiden visit to Malaysia after coming from Bangkok where Urban Decay was launched with much acclaim. Some lucky Sephora customers and bloggers were given a preview of Urban Decay’s upcoming collection, Pulp Fiction which will be available on 18th September 2014. The collection is inspired by founder, Wende Zomnir’s favourite movie and in particular by the character played by Uma Thurman, Mia Wallace.

Firstly, let’s have a look at the new products!

Righteous (light cream matte), Tyranny (warm brown matte), Vengeance (deep taupe-brown matte-satin), Furious (white satin) and Anger (black satin w/slight tonal sparkle). This Pulp Fiction Eyeshadow Palette features the fateful Ezekiel passage voiced by Jules Winnfield in the film. Inside, there’s a generous mirror and a blood-red double-ended brush (a compact shadow brush and a multitasker brush). This palette also comes with a “Get the Look” card—with step-by-step instructions for creating a modern version of Mia’s look from the film.

Subversion Lash Primer adds weight to your lashes and gives your mascara something to grab onto. The brush coats lashes from root to tip—to make them amazingly thicker, longer and stronger.

Perversion has a creamy, full-bodied texture that’s not too dry, not too wet. This allows just the right amount of “pull” so it glides through lashes. The result: incredible control for insane lashes. Perversion Mascara contains Hairdensyl, a complex blend of proteins and amino acids—including marine glycogen, known to stimulate lash growth. Honey extract provides deep nourishment, sea idrolized elastine stimulates the hair follicle. This is the blackest mascara in the market and the one Kim K wore on her wedding day.

An ultra-velvety, PLUSH version of Urban Decay’s legendary 24/7 Eye Pencil. 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil is the ultimate tool for smudging. And it has the same long-lasting benefits as their 24/7 Eye Pencils. More powdery than their original 24/7 Eye Pencils, 24/7 Velvet blends easier to create soft, smoky edges. Use this pencil to get perfectly blended-out or rich, defined lines. 24/7 Velvet is the ultimate liner for doing a smoky, rimmed eye (or whenever you want a look that’s more matte and soft). 24/7 Velvet contains moisturizing jojoba oil. And it’s paraben-free.

The first product Steve applied on the eyes was Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original, a must-have product for keeping eyeshadows bright and long-lasting. Use a brush or fingertips to apply. UDPP variants include Sin, Eden and Greed. The primer absorbs oil so shadows remain creaseless.

Steve applied Righteous eyeshadow first followed by Tyranny all over lids for a subtle smoky illusion. All UD eyeshadows can be used wet or dry, use UD setting spray to wet the brush. Vengeance, a deeper brown shade is applied on crease. Apply using circular motions for a smoky effect, you won’t get a smoky look if you apply it with straight motions.

Next apply Anger, the black shade from inner to outer lash line with a tapping motion.

Apply Perversion 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil. After spraying setting spray on bush, apply Vengeance. Smoke out Vengeance on bottom lash for rich colour. Any shimmer in shadows will not fall out when used with the setting spray as the spray is like an adhesive.

Apply a light shade in the inner corner of the eye to make eyes look bigger and brighter. Apply Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner on top of eyeliner for accent.
