Outfit

There is nothing worse than having to spend ages searching through your closet minutes before you need to get in the taxi. Plan or purchase your outfit at least a week in advance. So that you can try it on with different shoe and bag options. If you are going to a more high-end venue, then lean towards formal dresses over tea dresses or jeans and a nice top.

Have your outfit laid out and ready in the morning, so that you can get ready without worrying about it.

Bath

If you have a bath, then it is time to take a long soak. Let your muscles all relax in the warm bubbly water. Make sure that you have your favourite tunes on in the background too. This is the perfect time to have a full-body scrub and say goodbye to any dead or dry skin patches that you have. If you are into natural beauty, then a sea salt and brown sugar scrub is easy to make and leaves skin feeling soft and supple.

While you’re in the bath, it is the ideal time to apply a facemask. The warmth of the water will soften up your pores, and you can go for a deep clean.

Hair and Make-up

If you are going for a look you haven’t done before; then you might want to head to youtube and find a tutorial that will give you the look you want. Take your time with each step – because there is nothing worse than being almost finished and hard-blinking when you have just applied your mascara – nightmare.

Pinterest is a hive of inspiration for your hair. But you should try and practice a few times with your ideal up-do before the big day. Because what you don’t want is to be stressed out because your curler isn’t playing ball, and your hair is crispy from the mousse.

Wear a lipstick that makes you feel like you own the world.

“Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a kick-ass red lipstick.”

Gwyneth Paltrow

Shoes

New shoes are beautiful to look at, and a nightmare to walk in. So while you might be tempted to go out in those new stunning strappy sandals, it might be better to opt for shoes you have tested out and worn in.

Getting glammed up should be a fun experience. You get to wear things that usually remain in the back of the closet, and use your most loved beauty products. Taking your time and feeling like an absolute goddess in the name of the game.
