There’s a latest addition to Laneige’s White Plus Renew range (the skin whitening range) in the form of the Purifying Mask. Prior to this newest product, the White Plus Renew range consisted of foam cleanser, skin refiner, emulsion, essence, day cream, night cream, eye protector (for day use), eye treatment (for night use) and apple zone mask.
Like any other brand, the products work best when used in their entirety. The White Plus Renew Purifying Mask is a soft cream-clay mask type pack which helps smoothen out the skin’s surface as well as remove dead skin cells for instant brightening effects. Active ingredients and whitening catalysts contained in this product include the mulberry, papain enzymes and cellulose powder.
According to Laneige, these are the benefits of the key ingredients:-

An effective exfoliator that is able to reach deep into the pores to remove trapped dirt.

Effectively removes dead skin cells.

Purifies and eliminates oxidative sebum and heavy metals.

Formulated using ingredients such as Liquorice and Paper Mulberry that is effective in lightening the skin’s blemishes and freckles.
This mask is unlike the typical clay mask which hardens and makes skin tight and dry. The recommended method of usage is to:-

massage mask into skin for 30 seconds.

leave on skin for 15-20 minutes.

moisten fingers and massage mask into skin before washing off.
I was surprised at how much I liked the texture of this mask as it still felt creamy even after 15 minutes on my skin, no hardening until I could see cracks. It has a marvellous feel to it which you’d have to try to understand as this is quite different from any other mask I have tried.
While it exfoliates, I could also feel the hydration effects and when it was washed off, my skin didn’t feel dry. It felt superbly smooth and yes, there was a brightness that was quite visible. I am using this mask very sparingly as I am trying to stretch my little 10g tub. I don’t need much for one application so I believe I can get at least 3x usage out of it.
The White Plus Renew Purifying Mask comes in a box of 8 x 10g and retails at RM135, reasonable considering you can use each 10g tub a few times if you are economical. Either cellotape the edges of the tub tightly or depot the remainder into an air-tight container for future uses. This is one skincare product I can safely say I will replenish after I have finished with my sample,
