There are some who have an affinity with wild creatures and some who’ll run a mile from them. I guess I belong in the second category. I mean I don’t mind mammals but I have a morbid fear of touching reptiles. However who doesn’t have respect and awe for a man who has come face-to-face with mountain lions and grizzly bears? We may admire metrosexual men for the way they groom themselves but I think most women would settle for a macho man any time who can save them from wild creatures!

So guess who was at Sunway Lagoon Wildlife Park today? None other than Casey Anderson of America The Wild aired on Nat Geo Wild (Astro Channel 550). His visit is in conjunction with the fourth season of America The Wild which will premier on Nat Geo Wild on 16th March 2014 at 8.40pm.

Casey made a grand appearance with an albino Burmese Python wrapped around him. I chose not to sit in front so that I wouldn’t be asked to touch the snake. Just as I thought, someone in the front most row was asked to touch the python. I’d sooner touch the Slow Loris, Small Toothed Palm Civet or the Blue & Gold Macaw who also made their appearance during this press conference.

The slow loris was the cutest of all the wild animals as it clung to Casey’s shirt and eventually dozed off still hanging on to him. It was so adorable that I wanted to take it home! It has such huge eyes which will make anybody melt.

Casey’s almost hour long presentation was filled with anecdotes about his experiences, he had us enthralled. I think we could have sat there for another hour as his experiences are nothing like what most of us urban folk have and will ever experience.

Nicknamed the ‘animal magmet’ ever since he was a child, Casey Anderson is the ultimate wildlife lover and animal enthusiast. He hails from Montana, USA and has been involved in television and film productions for more than 16 years.

Two lucky winners, Low Peng Hoong and Mahes Arvin A/L Prmananth won a once in a lifetime opportunity to explore the lush green forests of Borneo with Casey. The contest was a joint collaboration between Astro Circle and Nat Geo Wild to reward their loyal customers.

This season of America The Wild includes the following episodes:-

America The Wild IV : Monster Wolf

The season premiere will unveil the mystique surrounding the ‘Torfino Wolve’, where Casey’s journey begins in the picturesque coastal hamlet of Tofino, Canada. Rumour has it that these fearless creatures aren’t at all your typical wolves and Casey delves deep to solve the mysteries of these so called “Monster Wolves”. Will Caset’s valiant efforts meet success?

America The Wild IV : American Vampire

In another gripping episode, Casey makes an attempt to get up close and personal with an unknown yet deadly species, the Vampire Bat. In 2011, the first death by vampire bat bite was documented in the United States, but it won’t be the last. Join Casey as he plunges deep through the frontlines of Texas and Mexico to uncover why Vampire Bats are making a comeback. The question is should we be afraid?

America The Wild IV : Super Moose

Casey goes undercover to explain the bizarre and unpredictable moose behaviour during the peak of the mating season – when moose leave behind their solitary day-to-day existence to gather spectacular hormone-fuelled frenzy known as ‘supergroup’.

So don’t miss the opportunity to join Casey in his adventures for the season premier starting on 16th March 2014 aired on Nat Geo Wild (Astro Channel 550) brought to you exclusively by Fox International Channels.
