With October being the global Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) is doing its part to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of the disease in Malaysia, where the overall lifetime risk of developing breast cancer is one in every 27 women.

Among the hospital’s month-long activities is the Pink October ‘Board of Hope’ which was introduced with the support of popular Malaysian singer Jaclyn Victor who joined SJMC Chief Executive Officer Trish Hogan to pen the first messages of hope for breast cancer patients and survivors.

The hospital is inviting the public to pen their heartfelt and inspiring messages on the Pink October ‘Board of Hope’ and has pledged to donate RM5 for each message to Cancer Research Malaysia (CRM) for research programmes on the disease. The Board of Hope can be found at SJMC’s Outpatient Centre lobby, where it will be on display until 31 October 2021.

As part of the hospital’s Pink October initiatives to encourage Malaysians to take care of breast health, the first 50 customers to register for a 3D mammogram this month will receive a XIXILI voucher worth RM80 in addition to enjoying a promotional rate of RM310 for the 3D mammogram. All customers who register for consultation at the Breast Clinics will be entitled to receive a free XIXILI voucher worth RM100, while stocks last. Terms and conditions apply. 3D Mammogram provides a highly detailed impression of the breast tissues at a faster scan time, better patient comfort and improved cancer detection rate.
