Serai has a very nice, cool ambiance and their menu has a combination of local and Western food. Serai @ Jaya Shopping Centre gives prompt and friendly service and I really like the lamps on the ceiling. It’s a well decorated restaurant.
On previous visits to their outlets in Empire and Life Centre, I tried Western and local food. On this latest visit to their Jaya Shopping Centre outlet, I tried the Serai Platter @ RM25 which comes with oxtail asam pedas, honey squid, acar and ayam goreng berempah.
This platter arrived at the table within 15 minutes of ordering, very quick! The chicken was well marinated with turmeric and crispy without being at all oily. The squid was moist and sweet and the oxtail asam pedas so succulent and spicy, the tender meat was bursting with flavourful spices.
Serai @ Jaya Shopping Centre is spacious yet cosy
I like the music they play…..no contemporary music, just jazz and occasionally I heard Chinese New Year songs, very cool place indeed.
