Although I’ve been a big fan of MAC’s lipsticks for some years (I have a few must-have favourites that are always with me), these are the 1st PRO Longwear Lipcremes I’ve tried and are 2 of the 5 lipsticks from their Beth Ditto Collection.
PRO Longwear Lipcremes claim to last up to 12 hours, won’t feather or transfer with the colour staying true. They have creamy finishes and come in a different tube than the lipsticks in their regular range. I prefer this kind of tube as the lipstick is so close to the inner tube that there is less chance of breakage unlike the conventional tubes. They are also slightly pricier than the lipsticks in the regular range.
You’re Perfect Already is a neutral pale pink while Booyah!!! is a bright orange, so bright that I was quite startled when I opened the cap. Neither shade are ones that I would pick for myself as I am not partial towards pale shades nor bright orangey shades but I believe they’d work on certain skin tones better than others.
The texture of the lipsticks is indeed very creamy and opaqueness is achieved with just one swipe of the lipsticks. However, they aren’t very moisturising and you might want to apply some lip conditioner if you have dry lips.
They don’t stain cups or transfer on to food and as for staying power, I would say it’s better than average because they really do stay put as long as I don’t eat or drink with hardly any fading. After a breakfast of bread and tea, there was still colour around the edges of my lips. Colour was not completely gone which does say a lot about its colour durability.
Of the 2 shades above, I prefer You’re Perfect Already simply because I think it is more wearable. It’s a soft, sweet shade which can be paired with most eye shadows and great for days when you want a toned down lip to go with a fierce eye look.
