There are so many face primers available from just about every beauty brand that it can sometimes get confusing and difficult to choose. Do we really need face primers and are foundations enough? It depends on whether your skin needs a complexion enhancer. There may be days when we feel our skin needs a boost of radiance and certain foundations just aren’t enough to give us that glow-from-within look.
Pop Beauty Beam Base Primer comes in 2 shades – Gentle Glow for fair skin tones and Balmy Bronze for darker skin tones or tanned skins. This is a gel primer for a subtle glow, there’s no noticeable shimmer and yes, “subtle glow” is the keyword here as it doesn’t make my skin shine. It just adds some radiance and evens out skintone even if I don’t wear foundation.
This primer contains pure pearl extract for revitalizing and fortifying complexion and truffle extract for hydration. There’s also hyaluronic acid for boosting collagen production so one could say there are some skincare properties in this primer.
It can be used before liquid foundation or mixed with it. I have used it, more often than not, mixed with liquid foundation which is just 1 step and I think that it does help keep foundation in place especially if I have to wear makeup for longer hours than usual.
