Ouidad Moisture Lock Leave-In Conditioner

Ouidad is a renowned hair stylist and salon owner who has pioneered the curl category since 1984. She is “all about the curl”, whether she is cutting and styling clients at her Manhattan and LA Salons, training stylists across USA on her signature techniques or formulating products that improve curly hair’s health and appearance.

Her hair care products aren’t just for curly manes, they are designed for all hair types, even straight hair. Ouidad’s range consists of not only shampoos and conditioners but also hair treatments, curl styling gels and combs & hair sun shield products.

The Moisture Lock™ Leave-In Conditioner is described as “a lightweight treatment which creates a ‘moisture foundation’ by infusing strands with conditioning proteins”. It contains Prickly Pear Cactus Extract, Antioxidants Green Tea and Vitamin B5.

When I use this product, I don’t use a separate wash-off conditioner after my shampoo has been rinsed off as I want to test the efficacy of the Leave-In Conditioner. Furthermore, I don’t see the purpose of using 2 conditioners if one will do the job just fine.

There’s no doubt this is a lightweight conditioner which has a lovely scent and is non-sticky. It detangles my hair instantly and makes it smooth. I rather like the idea of using leave-in conditioners because hair remains smoother for a longer period than if I were to use a wash-off conditioner.

The instructions for use are that it should be used on damp hair. I apply a reasonable amount throughout my hair after I have towelled dry. Using this product saves water since I only have to rinse off my shampoo!

The Moisture Lock™ Leave-In Conditioner comes in a 250ml flip-top bottle (a piece of foil covers the opening so that there is no contamination prior to use) and it retails at RM78, available at Sephora outlets.
